This Dad Desperately Needs a

Living Kidney Donor to Survive

Greetings!  My name is "Van" and I'm the grateful Dad of these three cool daughters.

We designed this website for potential kidney donors and THEIR questions.  It provides complete transparency with hard facts about their most pressing concerns and questions donors face, like financial compensation for time off work and out-of-pocket costs, medical coverage and a lifetime kidney guarantee.

My goal is to beat this disease, be there for my daughters and use all my experience in research and artificial intelligence to help kidney patients and their loved ones get the help they need.

I was a single Dad to three wonderful daughters most of their growing-up years and that, honestly, was an unexpected detour but also the biggest joy of my life. They have given me five grandchildren with another due in June. The little ones call me “Pops.” We are very close.

I pray I’ll get a kidney in time to watch them grow up and have an active role in their lives. I dedicated my life to my girls and, even though they are grown, married and doing well on their own, I’d like to remain in their lives a while longer. I need them and they need me.

My support group of family, cousins and friends is incredible. Their love for me is beyond human understanding. Last but not least, I’m also a devoted pet parent and cook – to Olivia, my Airedale, who keeps me grounded 24/7. I currently live in the Chicago suburbs, but I grew up in West Michigan.

If you want to know why I'm trying to beat this disease, here are my BEST REASONS:

Are You An Angel?

We Need A Miracle.

The waiting line for a "cadaver kidney" is 5+ years, but Dad's doctors say he won't survive that long.

We've all been tested and rejected as living donors for various health reasons.  That's why we are appealing to our friends and the public for immediate help at this time.

Our Dad has helped so many people in his life who had no voice.  Some had special needs, others suffered poverty, and many faced discrimination. Now he needs your help... an angel... with a spare kidney.

We know you have concerns about becoming a living kidney donor and the risks to you and your loved ones. We get that. So, we did our research. The results shocked us. These FACTS will give you Peace of Mind:

Dad's Life, Loved Ones & Reasons for Living

Most importantly, living kidney donors live longer than the general population - 29% longer in one study! Seems crazy? See this US research data from the National Kidney Registry to learn the reasons why.

Read our Dad's own words in "The Message From Van" below and look at the picture gallery highlighting his life and loved ones.  Then browse through the FAQs about kidney donation and the benefits donors receive... you will find a few surprises!

Please volunteer to be our Dad's angel... please be our miracle... and please save our Dad's life!

Question #1:

Is donating a kidney safe? Am I risking my life? Could this kill me now or later?

Answer: Research shows the risk of death from living kidney donation is 7 out of 100,000. That's as safe as a tonsillectomy, 4 times safer than giving birth, 30 times safer than an appendectomy and somewhere between 50-80 times safer than being born. And according to the National Kidney Registry, "NKR has facilitated more than 6,000 transplants and none of these donors have returned in need of a kidney transplant."

Question #2:

I worry I'll get kidney disease in my remaining kidney

Answer: No person ever reported a loss of function in their remaining kidney according to the National Kidney Registry. But just in case something happens - and it doesn't matter why - you get a Forever Lifetime Kidney Replacement Guarantee called "Kidney Prioritization." That means if anything goes wrong in the future, you go to the front of the line, get a new living kidney, and get 100% free medical coverage.

Question #3:

I'm not rich and can't afford time off work or medical expenses

Answer: You will be paid up to $12,000 for actual lost wages - that’s $2,000 per week up to 6 weeks - and up to $6,000 for out-of-pocket costs, including child, elder care and companion travel. Lastly, 100% of your medical costs are covered before, during and after donation.
